The National Weather Service in Jacksonville, Florida, has issued a Coastal Flood Warning and High Rip Current Risk for Coastal Duval, bringing expected significant coastal flooding and dangerous conditions.

A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect from 5 AM Saturday to 8 PM EDT Monday. Additionally, a Coastal Flood Advisory for minor coastal flooding remains in effect until 5 AM EDT Saturday, while a High Rip Current Risk continues through Monday evening.

Significant coastal flooding is expected during the warning period. Impacts include the potential closure of numerous roads and the inundation of low-lying property, which encompasses homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure. Furthermore, some shoreline erosion is anticipated.

The hazardous conditions also involve dangerous rip currents that can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

⚠️ Safety
• Take necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
• Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth if travel is required.
• Swim near a lifeguard and remain aware of rip current risks.
