Extreme Heat Warning Issued for Coachella Valley and Desert Areas
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning. The warning remains in effect until Friday, September 11, at 8:00 PM PDT.
According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, dangerously hot conditions are expected across the affected regions. Daytime high temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 100s to low 110s, with overnight low temperatures remaining in the 80s.
Weather officials warned that very warm overnight temperatures will limit relief from the extreme daytime heat. This prolonged exposure to heat significantly increases the risk of heat-related illnesses.
The alert was issued on September 10 at 7:35 PM PDT and is scheduled to remain in effect until 8:00 PM PDT on September 11.
