Extreme Heat Warning Issued for Los Angeles County and Surrounding Areas
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for multiple parts of the region, with temperatures expected to reach between 92 and 108 degrees.
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, California, issued the Extreme Heat Warning on September 8 at 10:49 AM PDT. The warning remains in effect until September 10 at 8:00 PM PDT.
Affected areas include the Malibu Coast, Los Angeles County Beaches, Palos Verdes Hills, the Los Angeles County Inland Coast including Downtown Los Angeles, the Western and Eastern Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, Calabasas and Agoura Hills, and the Western and Eastern San Fernando Valley.
Temperatures are expected to range from 92 to 108 degrees. Humid conditions will add to heat discomfort, with heat peaking on Wednesday for most areas.
Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events, and hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.
