The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for portions of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and southeast California for Thursday, September 10. High temperatures are expected to reach up to 116 degrees in the hottest locations.

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada, issued the warning at 3:14 PM PDT on September 9. The warning is in effect from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM PDT (10:00 AM to 8:00 PM MST) on Thursday, September 10, bringing dangerously hot late-season conditions to the region.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 112 to 116 degrees in Death Valley and the Colorado River Valley. In the Las Vegas Valley, Moapa Valley, and Pahrump Valley, high temperatures are expected to range between 105 and 110 degrees.

Specific areas included in the warning span Death Valley National Park, Cadiz Basin, San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley, Lake Havasu, Fort Mohave, Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, Northwest Deserts, Northeast Clark County, Western Clark and Southern Nye County, and the Las Vegas Valley.
