Extreme Heat Warning Issued for Parts of Southern California
The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for desert and pass regions in Southern California, effective from Wednesday morning until Friday evening. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA issued the Extreme Heat Warning on September 7 at 8:16 PM PDT. The warning covers the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning. It takes effect at 10:00 AM PDT on Wednesday, September 9, and remains active until 8:00 PM PDT on Friday, September 11.
During this event, daytime temperatures are forecast to reach up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Overnight low temperatures are expected to stay elevated, ranging from the mid-80s to low 90s, which will limit relief from the daytime heat and create areas of major HeatRisk.
The weather service cautions that heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events due to the prolonged severe conditions.
