Extreme Heat Warning Issued for San Diego County Coastal Areas

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for San Diego County Coastal Areas, in effect from October 2 at 10:00 AM PDT until October 8 at 8:00 PM PDT.

The National Weather Service in San Diego issued the warning at 12:32 AM PDT on October 2. The extreme heat event is forecast to begin at 10:00 AM PDT on Friday, October 2, and continue through to Thursday, October 8 at 8:00 PM PDT.

Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with high temperatures ranging from the mid 80s to lower 90s near the coast. In the mesas and other higher coastal terrain, high temperatures are forecast to reach from the mid 90s to around 102 degrees. Overnight periods will remain very warm, with low temperatures mostly in the 70s.

The National Weather Service warns that the risk of heat-related illnesses increases significantly during such extreme heat events, necessitating precautions for those in the affected areas.
