Extreme Heat Warning Issued for San Diego County Coastal Areas

The National Weather Service in San Diego, California, has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for San Diego County Coastal Areas. The warning is in effect until October 8 at 8:00 PM PDT.

Dangerously hot conditions are expected across the region. High temperatures will range from the mid 80s to mid 90s near the coast, while the mesas and other higher coastal terrain are forecast to reach the mid 90s to low 100s.

Nighttime conditions will offer minimal cooling, with low temperatures remaining very warm and mostly in the 70s throughout the duration of the event.

The National Weather Service warns that heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. The alert, originally issued on October 3 at 6:05 PM PDT, remains active until 8:00 PM PDT on Thursday.
