Weather conditions are forecast to bring dangerously hot temperatures reaching up to 115 degrees. The alert is set to remain active until Friday, August 28 at 8:00 PM PDT.
Additional details provided by the weather service indicate that overnight temperatures will remain 5 to 8 degrees above normal levels. These elevated nighttime temperatures will limit relief from the high daytime heat.
The NWS warns that risk of heat-related illnesses increases significantly during extreme heat events of this duration and severity.
