Extreme Heat Watch Issued for Coachella Valley and San Diego County Deserts

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an Extreme Heat Watch for the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning. The watch is in effect from Wednesday morning, October 7, through Friday evening, October 9, 2026.

The National Weather Service issued the watch on October 6 at 2:20 AM PDT. The affected areas are expected to experience dangerously hot conditions, with high temperatures on Thursday possibly reaching as high as 108.
