Extreme Heat Watch Issued for Coastal San Diego and Orange Counties
The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an Extreme Heat Watch for coastal areas in San Diego and Orange counties, in effect from Tuesday morning through Friday evening.
Temperatures are forecasted to range from 85 to 90 degrees across the Orange County Coastal Areas and San Diego County Coastal Areas. The watch begins on the morning of Tuesday, August 25, and continues until 8:00 PM PDT on Friday, August 28.
Overnight low temperatures are expected to remain approximately 5 to 7 degrees above normal. These high overnight temperatures will limit relief from the heat, particularly for individuals without adequate cooling.
The National Weather Service cautions that heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. The watch notice was originally issued on August 22 at 9:43 PM PDT.
