The National Weather Service in Jacksonville, Florida, has issued a Flood Warning for portions of Clay and Duval counties until 2:15 AM EDT. Excessive rainfall has caused flooding in urban areas and small streams.

The warning affects North Central Clay County and Southwestern Duval County in northeastern Florida. According to the National Weather Service, flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms as of 12:07 AM EDT. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have already fallen in the warned area, with additional rainfall amounts of up to 1 inch possible.

Impacted locations include Jacksonville, Orange Park, Middleburg, Bellair-Meadowbrook Terrace, Normandy, Cecil Field, Ortega, Oakleaf Plantation, Lakeside, and Doctors Inlet. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
