October 12, 2026 · wweather1 editorial · 1 min read

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey, has issued a Flood Warning for Philadelphia County and southeastern Montgomery County in Pennsylvania. The warning remains in effect until 9:30 PM EDT on October 11.

Excessive rainfall across the region has caused flooding in urban areas and along small streams. At 6:41 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of very heavy rain, with precipitation totals between 1.5 and 2.5 inches already recorded.

Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible within the warned area. Streams continue to rise from excess runoff, and flooding of rivers, creeks, and low-lying or flood-prone locations is imminent or currently occurring.

Locations experiencing flooding include Philadelphia, Center City, Kensington, Germantown, Wissinoming, Rockledge, and the Ben Franklin Bridge area.

⚠️ Safety
• Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
• Avoid driving into flooded areas, as most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
