Flood Warning Issued for Trinity River in Dallas

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Trinity River at Dallas, effective until 4:30 AM CDT on October 3. Minor flooding is occurring and is expected to persist in Dallas County.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, issued the warning at 8:24 PM CDT on Thursday, October 1. The Flood Warning has been extended for the Trinity River at Dallas, while the warning for White Rock Creek near Greenville Avenue has been cancelled.

As of 7:30 PM CDT on Thursday, the Trinity River was recorded at 30 feet, reaching both bankfull and flood stage. The river is forecast to rise to a crest of 32.5 feet late tonight before falling back below flood stage on Friday afternoon.

Minor flooding along the river is affecting low-lying areas. Floodwaters several feet deep are expected on bike trails along the river, and the parking lot of Trammel Crow Park beneath the Sylvan bridge will flood.
