Flood Watch Issued for Parts of East Central Florida

November 2, 2026 · wweather1 editorial · 2 min read

The National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida, has issued a Flood Watch for multiple counties in east central Florida through Monday afternoon due to potential excessive rainfall.

The Flood Watch remains in effect from November 1 at 8:06 PM EST until November 2 at 3:00 PM EST. Affected areas include Inland Volusia, Northern Lake County, Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Coastal Volusia, and Southern Lake County.

According to the National Weather Service, a disturbance from the Gulf is interacting with unusually rich moisture over portions of Central Florida. This interaction is causing bands of heavy rain to continue overnight.

With the ground nearly saturated, widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are forecast, alongside localized amounts of 5 to 7 inches or more. This excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying, flood-prone locations, as well as poor drainage and urban areas.

Residents in the affected areas should monitor later forecasts and remain alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Why it is dangerous and what to do

⚠️ Safety
• Monitor later forecasts and stay alert for possible Flood Warnings.
• Be prepared to take action if flooding develops, especially if you live in a flood-prone area.
