Flood Watch Issued for Portions of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville, Florida, has issued a Flood Watch for parts of northeast Florida and southeast Georgia due to the potential for flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

The Flood Watch is in effect from 10 AM EDT this morning through this evening, October 6, 2026, until 8:00 PM EDT. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may also occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Affected areas in northeast Florida include Coastal Duval, Coastal Flagler, Coastal Nassau, Eastern Clay, Eastern Putnam, Inland Flagler, Inland Nassau, Northeast Coastal St. Johns, Northern Inland St. Johns, South Central Duval, Southeast Coastal St. Johns, Southern Inland St. Johns, Trout River, Western Duval, and Western St. Johns. In southeast Georgia, affected areas include Coastal Camden and Inland Camden.

Additional heavy rainfall is forecast to develop this afternoon along the northeast Florida coast and portions of the southeast Georgia coast. Heavy rainbands pushing in from the Atlantic may lead to locally heavy rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches through the afternoon and early evening today.
