NWS Issues Extreme Heat Warning for Coachella Valley and Surrounding Areas
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for parts of Southern California, bringing dangerously hot conditions starting Wednesday morning.
An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in San Diego, California. The warning is in effect from September 9 at 10:00 AM PDT until September 11 at 8:00 PM PDT.
Affected regions include the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning. High temperatures are expected to reach between 106 and 110 degrees, while low temperatures will remain in the 80s.
These conditions present areas of Major HeatRisk. Very warm overnight temperatures are anticipated, which will limit relief from the daytime heat.
The National Weather Service notes that the risk of heat-related illnesses increases significantly during extreme heat events.
