NWS Issues Extreme Heat Warning for Parts of Arizona, California, and Nevada
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and southern Nevada. The warning is in effect from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM PDT on September 10.
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada, issued the Extreme Heat Warning at 2:28 AM PDT on September 10. The alert covers dangerously hot late-season conditions expected across the regional valleys and desert locations throughout the day.
Temperatures are forecast to reach highs between 112 and 116 degrees in Death Valley and the Colorado River Valley. Highs between 105 and 110 degrees are expected in the Las Vegas Valley, Moapa Valley, and Pahrump Valley.
The affected locations include Lake Havasu, Fort Mohave, the Cadiz Basin, Death Valley National Park, Northwest Deserts, San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley, Northeast Clark County, Western Clark and Southern Nye County, the Las Vegas Valley, as well as the Arizona and Nevada sides of Lake Mead and Lake Mohave.
Weather officials advise that extreme temperatures significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses, especially during outdoor exposure.
