NWS Issues Extreme Heat Warning for Parts of Southern California
The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for several desert and pass regions in Southern California, in effect from Wednesday morning through Friday evening.
The National Weather Service San Diego CA issued the Extreme Heat Warning at 11:09 AM PDT on September 7. The alert takes effect at 10:00 AM PDT on Wednesday, September 9, and remains active until 8:00 PM PDT on Friday, September 11.
Targeted regions include the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning. Temperatures in these locations are expected to reach up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit, with overnight low temperatures staying between the mid-80s and low 90s.
Weather officials warn of major HeatRisk, noting that elevated overnight temperatures will limit relief from daytime conditions. The risk of heat-related illnesses increases significantly during these extreme heat events.
