The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for parts of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and southern Nevada, remaining in effect from Tuesday at 10 AM PDT until Friday at 8 PM PDT.
Dangerously hot conditions are expected during this weather event. Temperatures are anticipated to reach up to 115 to 118 degrees in Death Valley and the lower Colorado River Valley, while other areas will see highs ranging between 107 to 110 degrees.
The affected regions include Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave, the Arizona sides of Lake Mead and Lake Mohave, the Hualapai Mountains, Northwest Deserts, Death Valley National Park, and the Eastern Mojave Desert including the Mojave National Preserve. Other impacted areas are the Morongo Basin, Cadiz Basin, San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley, and Northeast Clark County.
According to the National Weather Service, the risk of heat-related illnesses increases significantly during extreme heat events. Residents in the affected areas are advised to monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for ongoing updates.
