Prior to the warning, a Heat Advisory remains in effect until noon CDT on Tuesday. Heat index values up to 106 degrees are anticipated during the advisory period, followed by extreme heat conditions reaching up to 108 degrees under the warning.
The affected region includes Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Young, Jack, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta, Hopkins, Stephens, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman, Van Zandt, Rains, Eastland, Erath, Hood, Somervell, Johnson, and Ellis counties.
Weather officials emphasize that high temperatures combined with humidity significantly elevate the risk of heat-related illnesses. The danger is particularly pronounced for individuals working or participating in outdoor activities.
Peak heat hours are expected between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Authorities remind the public that heat stroke is a medical emergency requiring immediate assistance.
