The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada, has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and southern Nevada. The warning takes effect at 10:00 AM PDT on Tuesday and remains active until 8:00 PM PDT on Friday.
The alert was issued by the National Weather Service on August 17 at 2:14 AM PDT. Dangerously hot conditions are expected to begin at 10:00 AM PDT / MST on Tuesday and continue through 8:00 PM PDT / MST on Friday.
Forecast temperatures are expected to reach 115 to 118 degrees through Death Valley and the lower Colorado River Valley. High temperatures in other portions of the warning area are projected to range between 107 and 110 degrees.
The warning covers portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and southern Nevada. Specific locations under the alert include Death Valley National Park, the Eastern Mojave Desert including the Mojave National Preserve, Morongo Basin, Cadiz Basin, San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley, Northeast Clark County, the Hualapai Mountains, Northwest Deserts, Lake Havasu, Fort Mohave, and the Arizona sides of Lake Mead and Lake Mohave.
