Extreme Heat Watch Issued for Phoenix Metro Area

An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued by NWS Phoenix AZ for parts of Maricopa County. Dangerously hot conditions are possible from Tuesday morning through Thursday evening, with afternoon temperatures expected to reach 111 to 116 degrees.

The Extreme Heat Watch covers multiple areas in Maricopa County, including Buckeye/Avondale, Central Phoenix, Deer Valley, East Valley, North Phoenix/Glendale, Northwest Valley, Scottsdale/Paradise Valley, South Mountain/Ahwatukee, and Southeast Valley/Queen Creek. A Major Heat Risk has been identified for this period.

Heat-related illnesses are expected to increase significantly during this event. Overexposure can lead to heat cramps and heat exhaustion. Without intervention, these conditions can progress to heat stroke.
